Some other people secretly followed her to stop her from solving the mystery, these were supernatural creatures who were immune to the effects of the portal. But the woman knew that they were after her because she saw them. So as time went by she was forgetting things, because she couldn't look at the secret note because she was never alone. Even when she went to the toilet she was always with someone so she couldn't look at it. So years went by and she found a job in a shoe shop, completely forgetting about the mystery. Then she picked up a piece of paper that looked very familiar to her, but it was empty. Then she started to have small flashbacks about this yellow note that she had once that said something very important. And suddenly she remembered everything.
